Porsche 917-30 for rFactor
Here is something that I may never finish...lol It will be a mod for the racing simulator rFactor. I have built this model from scratch and done everything my self. It is a learning project for me, as I am an experienced 3d modeler, but I have never made a "mod" for a game before. So there is a lot there that I have to learn, such as lower poly count models for LOD's and actually setting the file structure to get it to work within the sim.

A Victory Lost
A Victory Lost is a new game to me and I have become a big fan. The artwork of the game pieces and map is stellar, along with the manual. However, I feel that the cover is lacking, considering the look of the rest of the game. So, I thought I would take a crack at it. It is another collage style I am working with, but I don't think I am too happy with it so far. I like the font for the name, but it may be too hard to read. I will see what else I can come up with. It is getting there, but I need to keep working on it.
As you can see, I have kind of kept the same feel, but gave it a bit more polish to go better with the included components.
Guilford Artwork Re-Design

What possessed to remake the cover for the wargame "Guilford" is beyond me. It is a basic wargame published by GMT as part of their "Battles of the American Revolution" series. While it has high praises, it is not a very well known game. However, something appealed to me about it, so I thought I would give it a shot. Here is what I came up with.

I used many different elements to achieve the aged effect. The main one being the piece of parchment that has these cool seal emblems across the front. I am not sure what they are, but I do know that they are from around 1781 in America, so they fit :) I kept all of the original text and used many of the same elements to convey the information, such as the scroll bearing the name of the "Bonus Game." I would like to find a better image for the American flag as the one I found is rather flat. The Union Jack is a nice waving image that I may have to replicate by hand to get the same effect for the American flag. I don't think I am going to bother with redoing the pieces and map as of yet unless I get really motivated. This project was more of a test than anything to set up my render scene and play with some different techniques.

My artwork and other ramblings
I have started this blog to keep a running gallery of my personal and professional design and artwork. I have many different things here from board game art, logo designs, digital art, 3d Models and some various paint jobs for sim racers. So, enjoy.
